Greenwich Peninsula has come into its own over the last few years. Once a quiet stretch of riverside, it's now one of the most interesting corners of South East London, and The Oystercatcher sits right at the heart of it.
If you're planning a visit, here's how to make a day of it.
Start at the Emirates Air Line cable car for views across the Thames you won't get anywhere else in the city. From there, it's a short walk along the river to Design District, a creative hub packed with independent studios, coffee shops, and the brilliantly weird Canteen food hall. Worth a wander even if you're not buying anything.
Art lovers should head straight for The Tide, the elevated riverside park dotted with sculpture, including work from Damien Hirst and other big names. The Now Gallery is also a few minutes away, with rotating exhibitions that are always worth a look.
For something bigger, The O2 is right on your doorstep. Whether you're catching a gig, climbing Up at The O2, or just grabbing food at one of the restaurants inside, it's the anchor of the peninsula.
And when you've worked up an appetite, that's where we come in. The Oystercatcher is a few minutes from The O2 and the cable car, set right on the river with views that face north across to Canary Wharf and beyond. We're the spot for lunch with a view, pre show dinner, post gig drinks, or a long lazy brunch the next morning.
Getting here is easy. North Greenwich tube on the Jubilee line drops you a short walk away, or hop on a river bus for a more scenic arrival. The Thames Path runs right past our door if you're walking from Greenwich proper.
